The washing station provides Coffee Coaches, who are each assigned to a community, to train producers and to develop long standing partnerships with the surrounding communities. We’re honored to offer this wonderful coffee to you, knowing that lives are directly impacted through its purchase. This SL-14 varietal is full bodied and bright with tasting notes of tropical fruits, honeydew, and kiwi.

We’re honored to partner with Catalyst Trade to bring to you this wonderfully delicate, washed Ethiopian coffee. Catalyst Trade truly has a heart for people and an ear to the ground in Ethiopia. This coffee was processed by their partners at the Mekonissa washing station in the Kellenso Mekonissa village. Mekonissa provides 12 full time jobs and 250 seasonal jobs for the people in the region. The coffee cherries, here, ripen slowly under the shade of bamboo and avocado trees, among others. After the coffee is harvested, smallholder producers bring their ripe cherries to Mekonissa for processing. This organic certified coffee is meticulously processed to highlight sweetness, acidity, and florality.
The Mekonissa washing station operates ethically and responsibly to serve their community and the hardworking people whom they employ. One of many reasons why we’re proud to offer this coffee is for Mekonissa’s C.A.F.E practices certification, which demands regulations such as gender equity training and no child labor. This is our first coffee from Catalyst Trade, and we greatly look forward to working alongside them to bring incredible, ethically sourced Ethiopian coffees to you for years to come.

ALTITUDE: 1500 MASL
Tasting Notes: Papya, Pink Grapefruit, Chamomile
Our sourcing partners in Kenya have a heart for unity and have demonstrated that since the early 1970’s when they purchased the Windrush Coffee Estate from a British settler. Rather than dividing the property they kept it whole and gathered a team of people to help manage and develop the business. This has led to not only a premium product but stability for the community. You will experience their love for the crop and the heart and soul they put into it, as you taste a full-bodied bright flavoring with every sip and a calming tea-like finish.
Please Note: All coffee bean orders are roasted fresh and may take 24-48 hours before shipping.
